SSC CHSL ( 10+2 )

SSC-CHSL is a Staff selection Commission – Combined Higher Secondary Level. This conducts the most participated examination of our country. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a Govt Of India organization to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices. Exam conducted by SSC are  SSC CHSL , SSC CGL , SSC CPO etc.

SSC CHSL exam is popular among the students as SSC LDC exam and SSC 10+2 exam.

Fee: The application fee for SSC CHSL is Rs. 100. All women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying application fee.

Education: Candidates must be 12th pass or equivalent from a recognized board of a university.

Age Limit: Candidates must be between the age group of 18 years to 27 years.

SSC CHSL (10+2) Exam Pattern

The SSC CHSL Exam is conducted in three stages or tiers:

  • Tier I    :  Computer-Based (Online Test ) : Question will be asked four subjects General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language.
  • Tier II   :  Descriptive Paper : To test writing skills. Candidates will be asked to write applications and essays on various topics like Economic reforms, national securities etc.
  • Tier III  : Skill Test (Typing Speed Test) : This tier consists of a Data Entry Speed Test & Computer Proficiency Test. This test is compulsory for those candidates who have applied for the post of DEO and DEO (CAG).

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) carries out the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL, 10+2) a national-level level exam to recruit persons at various posts e.g. Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants(PA/SA) Data Entry Operator (DEO). Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC); in various ministries/departments/offices of the Government of India.

The syllabus of SSC CGL and SSC CHSL are different. SSC CGL exam consists of four tiers but CHSL consists of only three tiers. SSC CGL Tier 3 is descriptive in nature. Currently syllabus of both the exams are same and the pattern of taking the exam is also same.

SSC CHSL doesn’t have interviews and personality tests. Candidates get selected only on the basis of the written test.

Yes, candidates must be able to type 40 words per minute. It is also considered the average typing.
