SSC-CPO is a Staff selection Commission – Central Police Organization Exam

SSC CPO cunducted by Staff Selection Comission (SSC). 

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a Govt Of India organization to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices. Exam conducted by SSC are  SSC CHSL , SSC CGL , SSC CPO etc.

A Aspirant who wants to join Central Police Force for various posts like Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police, Central Armed Police Forces
(CAPFs) and Assistant Sub Inspectors in CISF should know exam pattern of this exam.

SSC CPO exam is popular among the students. 

Fee: The application fee for SSC CPO is Rs. 100. All women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying application fee.

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: 18 – 30 years ( Age relaxation: SC/ ST- 5 years, OBC – 3 years ) 

Education Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University.

SSC CPO Exam Pattern

SSC CPO is Three Stage Exam

  1. First Stage – Paper 1

  2. Second Stage :  Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET), 

  3. Third / Final Stage:  Paper 2 and Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

SSC CPO Exam Pattern for Paper 1 

All candidates who register successfully for the exam are required to appear in the Paper 1. The exam comprises four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. Each section will have 50 questions. The paper will have a total 200 objective type questions. The test paper will be set in Hindi and English. The duration of the test is 2 hours. Each section of Paper 1 will carry 50 marks. Total marks of the test is 200

SSC CPO Exam Pattern 2020 for Physical Endurance Test 

For male candidates

  • 100 metre race in 16 seconds
  • 1.6 Kms race in 6.5 minutes
  • Long Jump: 3.65 metre in 3 chances
  • High Jump: 1.2 metre in 3 chances
  • Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 metre in 3 chance

For female candidates 

  • 100 metre race in 18 seconds
  • 800 metre race in 4 minutes
  • Long Jump: 2.7 metre in 3 chances
  • High Jump: 0.9 metre in 3 chances

SSC CPO Exam Patttern for Paper 2

This paper comprises objective type questions from English Language and Comprehension. There will be 200 questions in the paper. Candidates need to complete the paper within 2 hours. Questions are designed to test the candidates’ understanding and knowledge of English Language. 

Medical Exam

Medical exam is conducted for candidates who qualify the Paper 2 exam and found medically fit. Candidates are examined by the medical officer of the CAPF or any other Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon belonging to Grade I of any Central/State Govt. Hospital or Dispensary. 

Eye sight: The minimum near vision should be N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye). The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye) of both eyes without any correction like wearing glasses or surgery of any kind to improve visual acuity. 

Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision.

Finally selected candidates for the posts of Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector as a part of the training curriculum have to pass seven obstacles:

  • Jumping over the Vertical Board
  • Holding the rope on jumping from the Board
  • Tarzan Swing
  • Jumping on the Horizontal Board
  • Parallel Rope
  • Monkey Crawl
  • Vertical Rope

SSC CPO SI 2020 Application Fee:

The application fee is Rs 100. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from paying fee.)

SSC CPO Syllabus

The syllabus of SSC CPO comprises the following topics:

General Intelligence and Reasoning: Questions are asked from analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding, and decoding, etc. 

General Knowledge and General Awareness: The test include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research, etc. 

Quantitative Aptitude: Questions are asked from whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Square
roots, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds, etc. 

English Comprehension: This section assesses a candidate’s ability to understand basic English, Comprehension & Writing Ability.
